What you need:
square sheet of paper,
scissors,
optionally glue

Fold the paper in half.

Turn the paper around so that the fold is on the left side.

Fold the paper in half again.

Turn the paper so that the open side shows upwards.

Fold the paper diagonally from the left to the right.

Fold the top of the triangle from the right to the folding line on the left.

Cut off the open top at an angle.
If you vary the angle, the form of your star
changes.
