What you need:
two sheets of red corrugated cardstock,
two sheets of transparent paper
(e.g. coloured cellophane or parchment / greaseproof / wax paper),
one sheet of cardstock, glue,
sticky tape,
scissors,
one sheet of paper,
pencil,
hole-punch,
wire,
electric lantern stick
Draw a heart onto the sheet of paper.
![](herzla1.gif)
Draw this heart onto the back side of the corrugated cardstock.
There needs to be about 1 in left to the
edges.
![](herzla2.gif)
Draw another heart around the first one,
this time near to the edges.
Cut the heart out.
![](herzla3.gif)
Then cut the inner heart out so that only a heart frame is left.
![](herzla4.gif)
Produce a second heart frame with the second sheet of corrugated cardstock.
Glue transparent paper into the heart frames.
![](herzla5.gif)
Divide the sheet of cardstock in half along its long side.
Fold the long edges up (about 0.5 to 1 in).
![](herzla6.gif)
Cut into the small stripes several times so that you can bend the stripes without producing to many
creases.
![](herzla7.gif)
Glue the stripes onto the edges of one heart.
Begin at the tip so that there remains an opening at the upper part.
![](herzla9.gif)
The small stripes and the transparent paper should show to the inside.
If the glue dries slowly, you can also use sticky tape.
Glue the second heart on top.

Make two small holes into the cardstock at the top
and pull a piece of wire through for
hanging.

Hang the lantern onto an electric lantern stick.
